Welcome new and old friends!

Welcome to my new blog! I have tried this blogging thing many times, but I think my niche was a little *too* focused. I am interested in a multitude of topics (personal finance, investing, giveaway, promotions, movies and all things medical) and I hope to be able to share my thoughts and ideas with you! I'd like to think that I can bring a unique twist to some of these topics--especially because I want to bring them all together into one blog. I am a part of the Personal Finance community and also part of the giveaway/promoter/blogger community and I think we can all learn from one another.

My name is Renee, I am in my mid twenties and a Public Health RN. I've never had a nickname before and I've always wanted one so I've created the name Sully for this blog. Maybe this one will stick? Haha Over the past 2 years, I have learned a lot about finance, investing and my ultimate goal is to be able to retire in a little less than 10 years. I read blogs about early retirement (pretirement, if you will) and would like to keep track of my progress and ways that I save and invest with this blog.

In the past 6 months, I have been learning about blogging and have participated in many giveaways. I have won a few which have been so nice because I have won things that I would not have bought for myself due to my frugality and my drive to invest and save. After looking in to the giveaway/promotional blogging world from the outside, I can see that there are a lot of dedicated people getting the chance to review, promote and  give away magnificent prizes. I would like to do the same and hopefully spread ideas about personal finance, too.

I'd like to give a shout out to a few influential people who have inspired me to bring these communities together. Below are two personal finance bloggers (that I follow and thoroughly enjoy) who have crossed over to also include the giveaway side of blogging:

David Carlson from Young Adult Money has been very influential by promoting giveaways and encouraging readers to participate. I think it is awesome how he puts so much work into the giveaway post each week.

Michelle from Making Sense of Cents has participated in hosting a few giveaways--which I think is great :) She is also a fantastic personal finance role model because she has managed to generate multiple income streams. This girl's extra income posts are mind blowing! I want to be like her when I grow up ;)

Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope to have a giveaway or two up in the near future so check back!

-Sully
